Title: HIPAA security audit tool

Contents:

Hello DominoSecurity readers,

For those of you who are not familiar with it, HIPAA is a United States law that proscribes many details about the operation of health care businesses. Part of HIPAA relates to computer security. The deadline for meeting these security rules is April 2005. This may seem far off, but it really is not if you have to change the way your computer systems run.

I am starting to do some consulting work in this area, and I created the following tool that might be useful to you. It is a Notes database that contains a separate document for each detailed item of the HIPAA security rules, along with a form and views for performing an audit of each item.

You may use the tool for free, as long as you maintain my credits on the Help-About document. Please send comments to improve the tool, and I will incorporate the best ideas into future versions.
